Renewable power pioneer Alternergy Holdings Corporation (Alternergy) welcomes seasoned banker Maria Carmen G. Diaz as part of its executive team. Ms. Diaz, an international commercial and development banker with 25 years of experience, is joining Alternergy as its Chief Financial Officer and Chief Sustainability Officer.

Her vast hands-on experience in sustainable finance, risk management, development of sustainable finance banking products, risk assessment on Environment Social Governance (ESG), credit risk on debt and equity transactions, and investor relations are strong attributes as we build and beef up our team as a publicly listed entity,” said Gerry Magbanua, President of Alternergy Holdings Corporation.
Ms. Diaz, an MBA graduate from Ateneo Regis, started her banking career as a Trust Credit Officer at Equitable PCI Bank. She then held various positions as Credit Risk Department Head at the French investment bank Calyon, as AVP for Corporate Banking at Mizuho, the Japanese commercial bank, and as Senior Risk Management Officer at Asian Development Bank. Ms. Diaz last position was with Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) as Vice President and Sustainable Finance Officer under RCBC’s Risk Management Group.

Ms. Diaz joins Alternergy, a renewable power pioneer with a solid portfolio of project companies engaged in different RE projects, particularly wind, run-of-river hydro, solar farm and commercial rooftop, battery storage and offshore wind projects. She follows another recent addition to Alternergy, Mr. Servillano Haboc, a veteran hydro power development executive, who joined from AboitizPower. Alternergy’s Solar Pacific recently inaugurated its 15MWp Solar PV and 13MWh Battery Energy Storage project in the Republic of Palau, its first foray overseas.
