Renewable power pioneer Alternergy Holdings Corporation (Alternergy) welcomes hydro power project veteran Servillano “Vil” Haboc as part of its team. Mr. Haboc, a hydropower engineer with almost four decades of experience, is joining Alternergy’s Dupinga run-of-river hydropower project located in Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija.
“We are pleased to welcome Vil to the team. His vast hands-on experience on hydropower project development from civil works design to construction, to project supervision and management, to stakeholder relations and compliance are strong attributes as we build and beef up our hydro team,” Eduardo Martinez Miranda, president of Alternergy Mini Hydro Holdings Corporation, the hydro energy sub-holding company and wholly owned subsidiary of Alternergy.
Mr. Haboc, a registered civil engineer, started as a civil works design engineer at HEDCOR. He held various positions at HEDCOR over the years, developing, supervising and managing hydropower projects across the country which included the Ampohaw, Bineng and Bakun hydro projects in Benguet and the Sibulan, Talomo and Manolo Fortich hydro projects in Mindanao. Mr. Haboc’s last position at the Aboitiz Group was as assistant vice-president handling stakeholder relations and compliance.
“I look forward to working with Alternergy which is still building its own experience in hydropower development. I hope to be able to contribute to help the team achieve its vision of Triple Play Portfolio, with hydro as a significant contributor in the long-term,” Mr. Haboc said.
Alternergy is developing three run-of-river hydropower projects. Two of which are under construction, the Dupinga Project and the Kiangan Project in Ifugao, a combination of the Asin-Hungduan and Ibulao1 projects. Another hydro project is shovel-ready, the Lamut project, which is also located in Ifugao. It is in final stages of issuing the Notice to Proceed for early works activities.
